The job I want to do means I will have to travel a lot and need a car. I haven't yet learnt to drive, but am currently having lessons. I found a driving school in my area and my partner booked me some driving lessons. He also changed insurance groups to one that was cheaper, and put me on the insurance so I could practice in his car.

The instructor from the driving school came out and on my first lesson we talked about the basics and did stopping and starting. I was so nervous but he assured me he wouldn't let me crash the car. It was his own car and he had stickers from the driving school, to put on the car to advertise the driving school and to let everyone know it was a learner driver car. I really like his car, and hope to get something similar when I pass my test, it's lovely to drive compared to my partners car.

I passed my theory test 2 weeks ago, and my instructor has started preparing me for my practical test. It's so confusing sometimes. There is so much information to take in, but I see lots of people I went to school with driving around, and people younger than me, and figure if they can do it, so can I. I have not yet mastered reversing around a corner, for some reason I just can't do it, I get around the corner OK but then I would steer the car into drives, or the other side of the road. Hopefully with time I shall be able to do it. Another problemI am having is the gears. Sometimes I don't manage to put it in gear correctly and the car starts making crazy noises and conks out. I also forget what gear I am in and have to keep looking at the gear stick. I am starting to think maybe an automatic might be better for me, but I am sure with time I shall get there.

I have mastered the clutch control, and I do really well with turns in the road. I really don't like driving in the rain, but I will have to learn as it always rains here. I am hoping I don't have to have to many driving lessons before I am ready for my test, and really hop I pass the test first time!
