Transport Thoughts

I just learned what a skip hire was today. I am taking this class in school and we are studying this chapter about remodeling a room. A skip hire is like a big over grown trash can. It is more on the order of like a bin that a trash hauler would leave like at an apartment buildings, or like a place of business. We want to remodel a house or a room, or even cut down old trees, it is best to look for the cheapest skip hire. They come in all available sizes for any job you want to do.

They give us examples of likes schools will use them when tearing out a cabinets like in a Science Room. They have the bin right underneath the window and just start throwing the old cabinets. The students started talking about how some were not safe around kids. One told a story where a kid got mad, and through his bike in one. He was going around telling everyone what he did, and was hoping for a new bike from his parents. He used the excuse his other one got thrown away by the trash hauler. You know that great big thing out on the driveway.

His dad had to get a ladder to get in there to get his bike, and told his son, these are not safe to be around. Now I see why they have these bins around schools after school is out. They are just not safe to have around kids. If the schools were remodeling even during summer school, there would be a chance of a kid falling in if he could get a ladder.

You would think that parents would be aware of things like that, but kids do like to get into trouble when the parents are not home. I know from experience some days. I do remember I was riding my bike to go to a park to play and I saw one of those over grown trash bins and was thinking how fun it would be to get a ladder and climb in and out of one. Well I will not talk about that one incident.

Well that was the end of the lesson for today, and all the teacher said was just play it safe when around a skip hire, please. No riding your bike trying to jump over them, please.
