A lot of different driving instructor courses are out there that teach the public how to drive. Some are cheap, some are more expensive, but all of them are intended to teach you to pass both your theory test and your driving test.

My sister chose one of the cheap driving schools to study for her theory test. That's not really a surprise, my sister usually chooses the cheap option out of what is available. But it backfired on her, because they were using an American textbook for part of the theory test training, so she had a lot of information that really didn't apply to our test at all. What a waste of money that was!

I personally failed my driving test three times, but I think it was just because I was so nervous. My sister aced her driving test the first time she tried it, but failed her theory test twice. I'm glad to report that now we both are able to drive legally, but we couldn't be more different in how we drive. I am very cautious and deliberate, and my sister is the complete opposite. She drives fast, over the posted speed limit, most of the time, and she has had a couple of accidents.

One of her biggest complaints about me is that I brake for small furry woodland animals. She insists that eventually I will cause a wreck someday, and she doesn't seem to appreciate it when I point out that she's caused two wrecks already and killed who knows how many of our small furry friends.

So one day last week I was driving her to her boyfriend's (it's a long story, but I'll make it short by saying she didn't want to leave her car in front of his flat) and a kitten ran out in front of the car. I braked rather abruptly, and my sister immediately began screeching about how her well being was more important than that kitten's life. But immediately after, a little girl who couldn't have been more than three ran out into the street after the kitten, scooped it up, looked up at me fearfully, then ran back onto the sidewalk. If I hadn't braked the way I did, the little girl would have seen her pet killed right before her eyes.

My sister didn't say another word about it all the way there.
