I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to drive. I was always jealous that my older sister was able to. She got 34 out of 35 on her theory test and passed her driving test first time. I think I was about 14 when she passed and so I had three long years until I’d be able to learn! By the time I became sixteen many of my male school friend’s had their own moped. They had so much independence because of it so I was quite tempted to learn to ride my very own moped but I decided to save my money up for some car driving lessons instead.

When I finally started my them with driving school uk I was quite worried about my theory test. I didn’t really study very hard for a while and when ever I did it felt like I wasn’t learning anything. I was determined not to get a worse score than my sister did.

My driving test was approaching so I really had to get my act together. I spent a solid two weeks revising for my theory test, all my spare time went into it. On the actual day I was very nervous, but somewhere inside me I found some confidence and I did really well. I actually got full marks, that is better than my sister did! I was glad I didn’t bother spending my money on a moped because now I was one step closer to driving. Now all there is to worry about is my driving test!

The day of my driving test came about quite quickly, but I felt prepared, I also had my own car that I'd been practicing in. I was quite calm all up until the moment my examiner came out to meet me in the waiting room. He had me sign a form and my hands were shaking! We got in the car and it all seemed fine, but I stalled my car before I even left the parking space. Luckily my examiner accepted I had nerves and I went on to be able to pass my test first time. It was such a relief, I'd done it!
